The ‘Gyeong-ja’ Year of 2020 will end soon and the new year of 2021 is just around the corner .
At the end of 2019, I was very excited to welcome 2020 because of the strange feeling seeing the same number 20 and 20 in tandem
I though that overlapping two twenties might somehow deliver a unpredictable luck in a positive way.
But I was wrong.
Since the beginning of 2020, countless people have been died helplessly and hopelessly due to Covid-19 virus In 2020, as the corona virus spread all around the world, everyone was not able to have and enjoy a normal life nothing like ever before.
However, no matte what the life goes on.
We might have learned something, felt something, and changed something even in this crazy Covid pandemic period.
I interviewed a freshman how he has experienced this year and is expecting a new year.
“I am sad that I could not attend even my high school graduation ceremony and do many school activities as a frechman because of the Corona this year, but I was still lucky to occassionally see some friends and seniors On the bright side, thanks to the social distance practice, I think I had more time to enjoy my leisure time.
However, it was still a bit disappointing that I could not meet my friends and relatives on holidays.
It is still very dangerous to go out this upcoming Christmas, so I will just stay home .” said the freshman.
I still remember the begging of this year, but time went by so quickly without waiting for us, and we already arrived at the end of 2020.
Even at this moment, time goes by for a better and brighter future.
Now it is time to let the past year go and welcome a new year.
It seems like we are facing a gloomy year of 2021 because of the virus, but as old saying, the darker the night, the brighter the stars, goes, I wish we all have a happy new‘white ox’year of 2021 that gives us a life lesson of simplicity, sincerity, patience, and diligence.
