On February 15th, the administrative office announced the ways of course operation for the first semester of 2021. In order to effectively respond to the spread of Covid-19, the school will run different types of class based on a stage of social distancing policy.
Because of the downward revision to the 1.5 level of social distancing in non-metropolitan areas, out of three operational models, the “1.5 to 2.5 level model” will be the basis of the first semester. This model is operated by Online(Video recording or Online class via Webex) class and Offline(face-to-face) class. For offline meeting, classroom density should be 2/3 regulation. In the event of a confirmed Covid-19 case on campus, all classes should be fully operated On & On.
The types of class operation will vary depending on the course. For example, it is highly recommended that practicum classes and freshman courses be operated face-to-face, especially for freshmen to adapt to college life and effectively achieve academic goals(On & Off or On & On can be provided if needed). For general education, liberal arts classes, and online courses will be operated by 100% video recordings. The career seminar for freshmen may vary depending on department’s decision. Except these courses, On & Off type is generally required.
As far as how to run a test, a teacher can decide an appropriate way for On and/or Offline testing and assessment throughout the semester, but final examination must be offline except integrated liberal arts, chapel, and RUCK classes.
The information about different types of class operation is indicated in the course syllabus that you can download in INSTAR. You can also check it out on the webpage of course application from February 26th to March 8th, and you can get information via electronic attendance app.
