The Super Star certification system has been reor- ganized for 2021.
The reorganizations are as follows. First, Star’s cer- tification system has been integrated with the elec- tive and extracurricular program. Second, a certain percentage of cumulative conversion points is given to SP, Super Rookie(SRP), and Rising Star(RP) scores for which scholarships are awarded. Third, a step- by-step certification standard has been established. Finally, the number of certified people has been in- creased.
The certification standards are applied for students enrolled since 2020 and are divided into four levels: Gold, Silver, Bronze and Welcome. The elective com- petency is 400, 300, 200, and 50 in that order, the extracurricular competency is 120, 80, 30, 5, and the StarT competency is given points of 300, 100, and 30 (not in Welcome).
The competency point for the Gold level will be ac- cumulated by the first semester of the 4th grade year. The time of awarding the certification is either in August or February of the following year. Com- petency development activities for a total of 7 se- mesters must be certified until the first semester of the 4th grade year, and in the case of early gradu- ates, the scores obtained by the semester immedi- ately before graduation are certified. In this case, the certificate is awarded during the vacation.
Competency calculation periods other than Gold are divided into 1st and 2nd semesters. If calculations are made in the first semester, the certification is awarded in August, and if calculated in the second semester, certification is awarded in February of the following year. In the case of the first semester, the competency development until June can be accred- ited, and when it comes to the second semester, it is accredited by the competency development until De- cember.
The prerequisite for certification of the Gold level is to acquire 200 points or more among SP, SRP, and RP. Participation in the on-campus career employ- ment program for at least 15 hours as well as CPR training operated by the Center for Extracurricular Education are needed. In addition, students must participate in at least 5 of the programs operated by the Center of Teaching and Learning and complete 20 hours of the community service.
The benefits for each certification program are as follows. For Gold, a Super Star certificate is issued in the name of the president and a scholarship of KRW 1,500,000 is given. For Silver, a certificate in the name of the dean is issued and a scholarship of KRW 300,000 is provided. In addition, Gold students can participate in mentoring activities and various events provided for their level. For Bronze, a scholarship of KRW 100,000 is given and a variety of events are provided for Silver students. Welcome students can participate in events for their own level.
